Arnold Lim is a Korean-Canadian director who recently won the Telefilm Talent to Watch award two years in a row and directed his first narrative feature film All-in Madonna which played at the Whistler Film Festival and has its U.S. premiere at Cinequest this March.
A Victoria, B.C. resident who can work as a local in Victoria or Vancouver, B.C., Arnold brings a unique perspective to his directing after working internationally as a multi award-winning photo and video journalist for 15 years.
Arnold has also been awarded almost every major film grant in Canada including The Canada Council for the Arts (2021) a B.C. Arts Council grant (2021 & 2020), two Telefilm Talent to Watch grants (2019 & 2018), a BravoFACT grant (2017), was selected into the National Screen Institute’s (NSI) Features First program (2016) and the Harold Greenberg Fund Shorts to Features grant in 2015.
In addition to work as feature film programmer for the Vancouver Asian Film Festival (VAFF) and Asian Features programmer for the Victoria Film Festival (VFF), Arnold is an active and long-time film and photography award juror. He lives with his wife and two children in Victoria, B.C.
